1. This only applies to our residential customers, not commercial/business customers.

2. If you live in a home with only one water meter (which is the case for majority of our residential customers), nothing is changing for you and no action is required by you.

3. If you live in a home with a separate meter for a detached garage or building AND that garage/building has a separate meter, you may be eligible for this sales tax exemption. If this applies to you, you will need to come to our office and sign an exemption form.

4. If you live in a home with a separate meter for a detached garage or building AND that building/garage has a separate meter AND you are operating a business out of that said building, this exemption does not apply. No action is required of the customer.

*For example, of you are a mechanic and you are operating a repair business out of a garage/building on your property, that is still considered a commercial meter.

5. After 1/1/2023, if you move on to our water/sewer service or if you change addresses on our service area, we will ask you to sign this form when you fill out required paperwork for new service. Existing customers are grandfathered in at their current address and will not need to sign anything.

6. If you are a current residential customer of Fredonia Water System, you are currently not paying 6% sales tax and we are not going to start charging you state sales tax after 1/1/2023.

Any further questions, please call (270) 545-3925.

Our utility bills are mailed on the last business day of the month. Bills are due on the 15th of each month. A 10% penalty will be assessed on the 16th of each month for unpaid bills. For bills that are unpaid on the 25th of each month utilities will be disconnected on that date and a reconnection fee will be applied in the amount of $50.00. You may pay your bill via mail to P.O.
